You would totally be lying to yourself if hair care is not on your beauty & style priority list. While women spend an incredible amount of time doing their hair everyday, us men have a simpler way of doing it. I always get asked what I use to make my hair look perfectly flowed back and how I maintain the hold. Read more to find out what products I use to style my hair in only 10 minutes! My hairstyling routine on damp hair Step 1: Blowdry This is the essential base of styling hair for men. Of course it works best with mid-length hair but if you want to go for that fluffy styleable hair, blowdrying will help you create a long lasting look. I like to use the Living Proof Restore instant Protection spray on each sectioned hair before blowdrying to prevent heat damage. Step 2: Dry shampoo I was always trying to find a high quality dry shampoo product since I always used the drugstore ones, which damages hair over time, until I came across the Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder dry shampoo which can be bought from the Sephora website or local store. Many say it leaves white powder patches on the scalp, but that is why I use it before the next step, which is oil nourishment. I find it easier to use powder dry shampoos rather than spray bottles since powder bottles tend to give a more natural look. However, the Pret-a-Powder dry shampoo is not to be only used for refreshing hair that's missed a shower or two, it also extends the life of blowdry. Although blowdy might be enough for some, the the Pret-a-Powder dry shampoo helps you achieve that perfectly coiffed hairstyle. Step 3: Oil For me, it just makes more sense to nourish hair with oil before applying styling products and one of my all time favorites is the Moroccan oil Hydrating Styling Cream. This styling cream not only hydrates but also tames frizzy hair, the moisture formula creates a smooth, natural feel. Typically, it is also used for blowdrying but I just apply it after that step. The argan oil-infused product guarantees soft flows and shine. Step 4: Paste! The last step is one that is not the least. Paste! Finish off that look of yours for a final hold. I use the Night.Rider by Kevin Murphy for a matte finish because my hair is of oily nature. It's great for mid-length hair and creates a sleek yet matte finish and let me just say, the smell of the paste is like no other. Kevin Murphy also has many other products that may be more convenient to your hair type/texture. You can visit their website at kevinmurphy.com.au/product-categories/favorites/ Often, when I go for more natural looks and untamed hair, I replace the last step with the L'Oréal Elnet Satin hairpray which also gives strong hold but in a relaxed flow. www.alexismahdavi.com
